Complete Industrial Site Development

MacKenzie Co. NC was awarded a $2 million dollar sitework contract from the Henderson County Schools for Mills River Elementary and Hillandale Elementary. Across both projects there are 18 acres of clearing, 2000' lf of sanitary sewer, 2100' lf of water line, installation of erosion control and stormwater control structures, relocation of existing utilities, retaining walls, and asphalt paving on-site and in the NCDOT roadways.

Mills River
At this time the crews are pushing hard to balance the site and complete the sanitary sewer installation to get the proposed building pads started; although an unregistered UST stands in our way. Due to existing conditions on the site MacKenzie Co. NC is working closely with the City of Hendersonville to lower an existing water line to accommodate for the proposed grading plan along with coordinating the removal of an existing sanitary sewer grease interceptor to stay current with the schedule.

Hillandale
The crews are working both Challenger scrapers to their fullest along with expanding upon existing erosion control measures to accommodate changes in the project scope. Coordination with other utility companies has become top priority to stay on top of the stringent schedule. A temporary relocation of an existing sanitary sewer force main that in is conflict with a 15’ retaining wall is in works to be completed in the upcoming weeks along with review of unsuitable soils with the geotechnical engineer on-site.
